How energy flows in an ecosystem?

1 Answer

Answer :

Flow of Energy in Ecosystem:

The passage of energy in a one way direction through the ecosystem is called energy flow. Energy flow occur in food chains.

Sequence of energy flow: -

i) Energy from sun enter into the ecosystem.

ii) Producers use sun energy to prepare food.

iii) Consumers eat producers and use this energy in the form of food.

Loss of energy during its flow: -

On each trophic level some energy is lost as heat in activities of organism.
