(3) Krishna Explanation: The Godavari originates in the Western Ghats Trimbakcshwar, in the Nashik Subdivision or District of Maharashtra at a height of 920 m. The Krishna River rises in the Western Ghats, at an elevation of about 1337 m just north of Mahabaleshwar. The headwaters of the Mahanadi River are situated at an elevation of 442 meters over sea surface. The source of the Narmada is located at Amarkantak on the Amarkantak hill (1,057 m), in the Anuppur District zone of the Shandol of eastern Madhya Pradesh.
