Overall, the recovery time seems to last the first six months post-op. The worst part (more intense, rather) of recovery is over the first three months afterwards. It can take up to six months for the wounds to entirely heal (depending on the size of incision and care/maintenance post-op). Due to the size of the incision, it could take less or more time to get back to eating, dressing/bathing, walking, etc., without assistance. Most of the weight loss will happen within the first six months, which also slows the recovery...but feels pretty darn good!
