Why do centipedes have so many legs?

Answer :

Because it makes them grosser. No seriously, centipedes have so many legs because they are hunters. In order to catch their prey, Spiders and other insects, they need to be quick. All those legs helps them do so unfortunately. I personally think the less legs, the better!
