Finding a job as a science technician is really not as difficult as many people think it is. All that is necessary to get science technician jobs is a little bit of college experience, and a whole lot of drive to get a job. Science technician jobs don't put you in the position to be in charge of anything, so they are all very low grade and introductory positions. Therefore, college and work backgrounds aren't necessarily as important as your will to work. Scientists want technicians that don't whine and who have a great work ethic. Often, science technician jobs involve long hours for the technician. Because of this, most scientists will say a technician that doesn't whine is worth his or her weight in gold.
