Cloud based computing is the remote storing of data and shared computer programs. Although cloud based computing has been used for years, the term only recently entered popular culture. email is the most common example of cloud computing. People can access and store email without needing to install special programs. Other examples of cloud computing include Google Wave, which lets multiple people access and edit documents, and Microsoft's SkyDrive, a virtual storage center for emailed files.
