If you work in a hospital, there are a few things that you will have to keep in mind when it comes to cleaning. When you clean in a hospital, you are usually assigned to an area. You will clean that area during your shift, and then you will go home. Sometimes, you might have to clean other areas if there is a lack of help. The easiest area in the hospital to clean is the area with patients who are in their rooms. There are several of these floors through the hospital, and they usually don't require a lot of effort. You will generally pick up dirty sheets and laundry, and then you will wash them. You will also change the trash bags in the rooms and sweep the floors. If there is any trash on the floor, you will need to pick it up so that no one falls. You might also be responsible for keeping the waiting area clean on the floor you work on. Another area that needs cleaned regularly is the operating room. You won't go in there while there is a surgery being performed, but you will need to clean up all of the materials on the floor after the procedure. This is sometimes the hardest area to clean because there is a lot of blood and other fluids that need to be cleaned. Precautions such as gloves and a mask should be taken when cleaning an operating room. The emergency room is another area that needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. There are usually two or three people who clean the department because of the amount of work that needs to be done. Dirty sheets and gowns need to be taken away after a patient is discharged from the emergency room, and there are supplies that have been used that need to be thrown away. Added precautions should be taken when cleaning the emergency department as well.
