Define the terms : i) Specific conductance ii) Equivalent conductance
i) Specific conductance (k) : Specific conductance is the conductance of a 1 cm3 of the substance or solution.
OR
The conductance offered by a solution of length 1 cm & area of unit cross section is known as specific conductance.
ii) Equivalent conductance (λv) : It is the conductance of the solution containing 1gm equivalent of solute / electrolyte when placed between two sufficiently large electrodes 1 cm apart.
