What did sailors wear in the 1400s?

There were few sailors in the 1400’s. Columbus didn’t sail until1492 and he is considered the earliest ship. They would wear acotton pair of pants (jean type of material), loose shirt, aleather shoe or boot, and a hat. Most sailors were very roughpeople and would come out of jail in the mornings and sign onto aship. They had little and didn’t need much.
