Rhinoplasty - what is it?
Correction of the shape or size of the nose (and sometimes both) through surgery is called rhinoplasty. The main task of rhinoplasty is to improve the appearance, to create an aesthetically more harmonious appearance of the person who asked for such help.
This type of surgical intervention does not perform any therapeutic load. However, after a successful operation, this effect is still observed in terms of improving internal moral well-being. Appearance changes for the better, and at the same time, mood improves, self-esteem rises. As a result of the operation, a separate part of the face is modified, but the main features of the patient remain.
Is rhinoplasty indicated for everyone?
Like any surgical intervention, this type of surgery has its own contraindications. First of all, rhinoplasty should not be performed on people with cancer problems, as well as those with poor blood clotting, including those suffering from chronic and acute diseases. Therefore, before carrying out this correction, it is necessary to comprehensively examine. If the data obtained is unsatisfactory, the operation may be refused.
There are age restrictions in rhinoplasty. The recommended age of patients is 20-35 years. There is a reasonable explanation for this. It is before the age of 20 that the final formation of the nasal cartilage occurs. After 35 years, such a surgical intervention is fraught with serious complications. However, the age factor is not included in the category of severe restrictions.
Patients who decide to undergo rhinoplasty often expect ideal results from this. However, not everything that was conceived can be realized. Before the operation, all the wishes of the person seeking help will be expressed to the doctor, who will decide, perhaps, to correct the lines and size of the nose the way the patient wants or not. If there is no compromise between the applicant and the surgeon, rhinoplasty may be refused.
