Plasma has a better image, better color rendering, significantly higher response speed (especially compared to cheap LCDs) - so if you like watching sports broadcasts (fast movement), do not skimp ... On the other hand, plasma is basically in decline (LCD is quality are approaching) and has one major disadvantage - the relatively short life of the screen (the image is "burning"). LCDs are already approaching the quality of plasma (even if they do not reach it 100%), their advantage is durability and lower consumption (especially with LED backlighting). And if you can / want to spend more money, take a look at OLED - by far the best technology, only a little bit expensive so far.
