How does the dowel fit properly? Do I hammer it into a drilled hole for a fest, or do I drill a bigger one and plaster a dowel?

Answer :

I assume that a classic nylon dowel for brick or concrete is meant. A precise hole is drilled into which the dowel is hammered, it has anti-rotation moldings around the collar. I recommend cutting the dowel in the middle so that it expands as much as possible in the hole: Currently, there are many types of dowels on the market and each requires a slightly different procedure, but plastering is only necessary if the dowel rips out of the wall!
