Wedding without parents - how?

To put it bluntly. My friend and I have a wedding in November, but unfortunately she no longer has a single parent. His father left and does not communicate with him and his mother died of cancer. How does a wedding work in such a case? For example, the agenda at the table and the like? Somehow he doesn't deal with it. He's a phlegmatic. So, in his opinion, it will just turn out somehow. However, I've been thinking about it for a week and I'm looking for various tips on the Internet, but nothing anywhere. Can anyone at least advise me here? :-)
