Operation Jackpot is the most successful guerrilla operation conducted in the naval sector during the war of independence of Bangladesh. It was a suicide operation. The operation was carried out at 12 midnight on 15 August 1971, i.e. in the early morning of 16 August, at the same time in the sea ports of Chittagong and Mongla and at Chandpur and Narayanganj river ports inland. Operation Jackpot is a testament to the immense bravery of the Naval Commando fighters trained under Sector 10.
