What are Air Tools?

1 Answer

Answer :

What are Air Tools?
Air tools are tools driven by gas that are usually compressed air by a gas compressor. Air tools can also be driven by compressed carbon dioxide (CO2) stored in small cylinders allowing for portability. Air tools are also known as pneumatic tools. Air tools are commonly cheaper and safer to run and maintain than their electric power tool counterparts, as well as having a higher power to weight ratio, allowing a smaller, lighter tool to accomplish the same task. Previously, air tools were not popular in the DIY (do-it-yourself) market. However air tools are becoming increasingly popular, and have always been ubiquitous in industrial and manufacturing settings.

Air tools are powered by compressed air. Common types of these air-powered hand tools that are used in industry include buffers, drills, jack hammers, nailing and stapling guns, riveting guns, grinders, chipping hammers, sanders and wrenches. People can find a wide range of air tools, such as drills, air hammers, grinders, saws, nailers, sanders, staplers, ratchet and impact wrenches, cut off tools and so on.

There are more than a few types of air tools. For some examples, an air blower is used for cleaning up with just a valve and nozzle to blow away dirt, grinding type tools - angle-grinders, belt finishers, die-grinders, needle descaler and other “impact” other cleaning tools, pneumatic chisels, pneumatic impact socket wrench which is like a power spanner for nuts and bolts, shears and nibblers for sheet-metal work, pneumatic twist drill like and “electric drill”, but air-powered and grit blasters.

There are several advantages of air tools. The primary advantage is air tools are more robust and lighter than electric tools. Most air tools are built out of metal and can withstand a substantial impact. They do not need their own motors and this is why they are smaller, lighter, and easier to maneuver than electric tools. Air tools are also portable power source that can operate the air tool anywhere that can haul the portable air compressor. Another reason is air tools are more powerful than electric tools. They deliver more torque and higher RPMs than electric tools that allow the tool operator to accomplish tasks faster and easier. Besides, air tools are more versatile than electric tools. Air tools are more easily interchangeable than their electric counter parts and that pneumatic air tools will allow achieving things that are not possible when using electric tools.

There are also disadvantages of air tools compared to electric tools such as several times more power at the compressor needed than direct electric power to electric tool and normally there are more expensive then electric tools. The biggest disadvantage of air tools is air tools are tend to spit out some oil that can contaminate some work spieces. Generally oil with the minimum of air tool oil and do some rough work first before using the tool for maximum quality work.

Internet web sites are some of the resources that are very convenient when purchasing air tools. This can help someone to save money on the purchase of air tools as well as on related supplies and products. There are lots of advantages to shop for air tools on online sites. The biggest advantage of shopping for air tools at online sites is the convenience to search, find, retrieve information, compare, buy and receive the air tools in the comfort of own business or home. People can find exactly what they are looking for very simply. Buying air tools items through the internet can be done twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. In general, purchased air tools items through online sites can save hours of invaluable time and thousands of dollars on purchases.

Air tools, or pneumatic tools, are clearly very useful in their design and practice. Their ability to be compact in nature and to do the job of tools traditionally much larger puts them in a class of their own. When looking for tools for your home or business environment, consider purchasing some quality sets of air tools to get the job done.
