: Plastids play a major role in plant food synthesis , color formation and food storage. In plastids, chloropasts are found in green plants and contain green pigments called chlorophyll. Its main function is to assist in the study of light. Chlomopast causes a variety of colors on flower petals and fruits. During ripening of green fruits, chloroplasts transform into chromopasts, causing diversity.
