Difference between periodic motion and periodicity: Vibration speed is always linear. Periodic motion, on the other hand , can be linear , circular, or elliptical. In the case of periodic motion, an object passes a certain point in its trajectory only once in the same amount of time. In the case of vibrational motion, on the other hand, the object crosses a certain point in its trajectory twice in the same amount of time , in opposite directions.
