dot matrix printer is the cheapest. But quite popular. This printer has a print head for printing , usually a grid of 8 , 9 , 16 or 24 small pins is used in the print head. How many of those pins hit the head of the pin on the ribbon and make a character by placing a certain number of dots on the paper.
