: If the value and direction of velocity of a particle remains unchanged during motion, that is, if the particle travels equal distances at the same time in a certain direction, then the velocity of the object is called co-velocity or equilibrium velocity. Again the rate of change of velocity is called acceleration. That is, acceleration occurs in the case of unequal velocity , because in the case of unequal velocity the velocity changes but in the case of velocity there is no change in velocity. So in this case there is no acceleration. This is why the acceleration of a particle moving at zero is zero.
