The full form of GIS is Geographic Information System . Geographic data storage and analysis system is called GIS for short. It is a system for storing and analyzing data through computer, which helps in identifying , mapping and making future plans by storing , analyzing and managing geographical information. Roger Tomlinson first used the term Geographic Information System in 1986 . That is why he is called the father of GIS system.
