A gene bank or gene library is a clone of all the genes in an organism. In this case the genomic DNA is cut into pieces by the Restriction Enzyme and inserted into the cloning vector and a population of chimeric molecules is formed. A whole set of DNA fragments or clones of a genome (a set of genes in an organism) is called a gene bank or gene library.
