Bukhara Emirates (Persian: امارت بخارا ); Uzbek: Buxoro amirligi) was a Central Asian state from 185 to 1920. The region between the Amu Darya and the Sir Darya rivers belonged to this state. The emirate's main territory was the Lower Jarafshan River , its ancient city centers, including the ancient city of Samarkand and the capital Bukhara. To its west was the Khiva dynasty of Khwarizm and to the east was the Kokand dynasty of Fergana. It is currently part of Uzbekistan.
