On February 7, 1999 at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Kumble became the first Indian bowler and overall second bowler in the history of Test cricket after Jim Laker to capture all ten wickets of an innings. India set an difficult target of 420, Pakistan's chances of drawing the match on the final day were destroyed by Kumble, who took 10/74 to bowl out Pakistan for 207. From 101/0, Pakistan collapsed to 128/6 after a century stand for the opening wicket between Saeed Anwar and Shahid Afridi. The first name that popped up in my mind when I read this question was Unmukt Chand. Throughout his U-19 career his performance was unmatched and was considered the next best thing for Delhi team after Virat Kohli. He started playing professional cricket in a very young age. He drew attention when he started playing for Delhi U-19 and scored more than 400 runs with 2 centuries and 1 half century. His impressive performance didn’t go unnoticed as he was made the captain of the Delhi U-19 team. He consequently became the captain of the Indian U-19 team and lead the team to success in several occasions such as the quadrangular series in which he also ended up to be the second highest run getter , he was considered a big match player as most of his impressive performances came during semi-finals and Final stages. Unmukt chand after scoring a century in Australia One of his biggest achievement was leading Indian team to win the U-19 world cup in Australia. He scored a century in the finals and lead the team towards victory. Indian U-19 team winning the U-19 world cup He made his IPL debut in the year 2011 for Delhi Daredevils but his performance was nowhere near his match winning performances. He played for Mumbai Indians in 2015 but he found himself in the bench more often than not. Mumbai Indians net session Unmukt grabbed his opportunity in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2012–13. He scored 321 runs at an average of 35.66 with a strike rate reaching 140 for Delhi. He was the highest run-scorer. He scored back-to-back centuries, first against Kerala where he scored 105 off 67 balls, and then against Gujarat, scoring 125 off just 63 deliveries. Delhi was later shocked by Odisha in the semi-finals where he failed to score. He then became only the third Indian batsman to make three T20 centuries when he slammed 103 off 58 balls for Delhi, against Gujarat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2016. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Of-late he has been struggling with his form and since 2017 he has been in and out of his Delhi Ranji team. The guy who was once taunted to be the next best thing is now having a hard time to make it into the Ranji team. In all fairness, he still can make it to the team as he has age to his advantage. Hope he could make the necessary changes to his batting technique and get back to his original self. Unmukt Chand with Babar Azam during U-19 Asia Cup 2012 in Malaysia Edit: Some honorable mentions would bePankaj Singh-He is a tall fast bowler who has more than 450 wickets in the domestic circuit(first fast bowler to take 400 wickets in Ranji Trophy). So basically he is a domestic legend who was impressive right from the start of his U-19 career but not able to impress in the international level (personally I think he was just unlucky). Baba Aparajith- The all rounder was a part of the U-19 world cup winning squad of 2012 and was a major contributor with both the bat and ball. But he is yet to make it into the international level. Sarfaraz Khan- He was one of the most promising cricketer. He made it into the IPL in 2015 even before he was a part of U-19 world cup squad of 2016.His performance was not that impressive in recent times but I am sure he will come back with a bang. Sandeep Sharma- He was also a part of U-19 world cup winning squad of 2012 and played a clinical role in the world cup victory. He has more than 150 wickets in domestic circuit and was an important part of Kings XI Punjab bowling unit but is yet to make an impression in the international level.
