The International Court of Justice: The International Court of Justice deals with dispute referred to it by Party States voluntarily by mutual consent. This is called voluntary jurisdiction. Then the Court has compulsory jurisdiction in maintaining and enforcing treaties, conventions and international obligations among States. All matters of the UN Charter are under the jurisdiction of this Court. Advisory jurisdiction empowers it to give advisory opinion on legal questions referred to it by any organ of the UN or its agencies, which is not binding.
