It sounds like common garden purslane (Portulaca oleracea) It spreads by seeds...you can also pick the leaves and put them in a salad,and there is a larger variety that is very tasty called Golden Purslane available from Westcoast Seeds in Vancouver BC which is very good to eat and high in antioxidents.Not ALL weeds are bad!
