How do I get rid of the thistle plant named burdock in my yard. It's taking over my yard!

Answer :

Pour boiling water directly on the plant if you just have a small patch or two. Check the label on Roundup to see if it includes burdock and if it does you can use that.  If I have an infestation of something amoung other plants that I want to keep I apply the Roundup with a paint brush made for arts and crafts.  If the burdock is the only thing growing in the area you can spray on the Roundup. There are also products that kill star thistle.  Read the label and see if it will kill burdock.  It's pretty expensive so make sure the product is labelled to kill burdock before going to that expense. Once Roundup dries it will not hurt dogs-only when it is wet.
