I have also used boiling water to kill weeds on driveways, garden paths and even weeds that have found there way into house guttering. If you have alot of weeds in open garden beds you could also try placing a small length of pvc piping around the weed and pouring hot water into it. The pvc piping is to insure no hot water runs off onto other plants.
