Answer :

I had a very large one.  I noticed some spiders and other earwics.........I called someone to come and check it.  He said I had carpenter ants & termites.........I had him spray for everything, but in 1 year later I had to take it down as the termites came back.  I could not see anything wrong with it but it had to go and I got rid of the wood.
