Answer :

Is this planted in the ground, did you put some old horse manure in before planting it.  Also spring, summer & fall granular fertilizer. Water well the first year.......after that water when it does not rain.  Regular watering does create a fuller plant.  Trim in spring only.  They grow well in 10a but in 9b move it indoors for winter.  It can grow 25 ft tall and 10 ft wide
