Answer :

You could check the PH....it should be 5.5-7.5............................we use lime and old horsemanure up here in 5a but in 7a............we used newspaper around the plants to keep the moisture.  any leaves that don't look right I just pinch them off into a trash bag that I hang on my wrist as I travel thru the garden.  Happy Spring is coming soon.
