Despite my objections to the practice, I think it’s probably best to make capital punishment as humane as possible. It was recently shown in the documentary How To Kill A Human Being that it’s quite possible for executions to be completely painless. It’s supposed to be about killing the person, not torturing them. And really, the lethal injection is not what I’d call ‘humane’.
