answer:Not sure what you’re running, but here’s my guess at the possible problem: 1. QuickTime without the Pro upgrade has limited import/export functionality; if you are not running the Pro Version this is likely to impact mpeg-to-QT movie export (on a Mac go to the QuickTime application menu, and choose “Quicktime Player Preferences” to display the version you own; for Windows, go to Properties in settings menu (?); 2. If you are running the Pro version (a $29 u/g, free w/certain Apple products), then you need to make sure you are not choosing the “Save” or “Save As” commands to save the QT movie; instead, you need to use the “Export” command (all of the above are found from the File menu). 3. Using File/Export, use the “Movie to QuickTime Movie” setting, then click the “Options” button; then make sure there is a check in both the Video and Sound boxes; for Video click “settings” and choose H.264 from the list, for most basic exporting choices (iPod, iPhone, computer, CD-R, etc.), and for Audio (w/check box checked) click “settings” and choose AAC (again the most common settings for most QuickTime media out there); then click okay to apply the changes. 4. If you don’t have QT Pro and don’t want to pay the $29 upgrade, then you can search on the internets for QT conversion tools (e.g. versiontracker) to find 3rd party utils. that do this. Good luck :)
