I guess gas guzzlers in the typical sense of the term will not be there but smaller cars, which could be fuel efficient as well, are going to be the norm for a while given the state of the auto industry as well as the economic climate reflected in the buying power of people. Green cars, solar powered, hydrogen powered etc., are probably going to be a bit farther off into the future. Hybrid cars are catching up but fueling stops are not so evenly sprawled even in the urban areas. According to my estimate, even 50 years from now, I don’t think our fuel dependency on non-renewable energy sources will have shifted too much. But that’s my guess. Off the top of my head.
