My adjective for art is usually in the realm of disturbing, as the quote attributed to da Vinci in which he stated: Great art should disturb the viewer. Art that is NOT disturbing, that is, for lack of a better word, domesticated, i.e. little girls in flowered sundresses on swingsets, that to me, is artsy. Or as I prefer to call it, artsy fartsy, which is a mildly derogatory term.
