answer:I wouldn’t recommend a neurological approach to memes. A cognitive point of view would be more helpful. Would you try to prove the existence of Windows by taking a hard drive apart and studying it? It’d be more helpful to stick it into a computer and look at what the monitor shows. It’s perfectly possible to prove the existence of information in someone’s head without using brain scans. The field of linguistics has long since been using simple mass inquiry as a source of information on the behaviour of languages (which are memeplexes too).
