answer:Maybe it’s my inferiority complex, but I don’t understand people’s obsession with individual survival. If we don’t live for the whole of humanity, what do we live for? There is no natural reason why I or anyone must live forever, whether by sitting on clouds of pleasure, burning in fires of pain, or “coming back” as some other lifeform. I’ll live on through my actions’ effects on other people. And I don’t need to feel good about it when it’s happening for it to be a good thing. You just have to be open to complexity to appreciate reality, you don’t have to understand it all—I wish people would stop trying to simplify the most beautiful things.
