I don’t believe any of us are better than others. I do think some of us have had more opportunities, have been luckier than others etc. Most of the time, people who behave in destructive ways (to themselves and others) have had some experience in their lives that has led to these behaviours. It is an area filled with grey matter imo. Having said that, I do believe when we reach adulthood, choice plays a large role in our lives. As the saying goes, we cannot change the wind, but we can adjust our sails to reach our destination. We all reach a certain point in our lives where we must take responsibility for our lives. Some people simply don’t do this. While I don’t see myself as better than those people, I choose to spend my time with people who are more like-minded.
