This is the present with coupons. As I understand it, stores are not required to take coupons, it’s just good business. If it’s printed at home and has a bar code that the store is able to scan, that helps with authenticity, but smaller retailers often won’t take home printed coupons because they can’t redeem them with the manufacturer without the proper software in their registers. If there’s no bar code, they really have no way of telling if it’s bogus or not. In a case like that, maybe a larger retailer would take it.
