answer:You already have a delete key. It’s at the upper right hand corner, and has a little x. You might not be able to get arrow keys without jailbreaking – this is the only way I could find to customize my iPad gen 1’s keyboard. See directions here. This is legal & reversable, and may allow you to maintain the keys across apps. There’s also an iTunes store app with left and right arrow keys, but it’s functionality is limited to intra-app use, and I wouldn’t guess that it works very well in general.

If it were me, I’d do some speed tests online (iPhone or wireless computer vs ipad on my home network) and then call Apple. Others have reported no problem at all.
