An old work buddy of mine did with his friend who was moving there to surf. The main things I remember are to: a) get off the road well before dark, and b) have one person stay with the vehicle during border crossings to thwart efforts to plant drugs on your car while you are going through a border checkpoint. Also, have money in case the cops who want to visit with you need it “for coffee.”
