What a dramatic way to say, “I like you, do you like me?” I’ve never been interested in a guy I’d call an intellectual (the exceptionally smart men I know are also exceptionally obnoxious and/or pretentious, which is unattractive), not that you have to be an intellectual to understand that message, but I find it best to be straightforward with guys. Sending poetry or flowery language like this is just going to leave many of them scratching their heads. I don’t find it really impressed them – especially young men who have yet to develop an appreciation for such things. I think he did get the general message and clearly is responding to the “I’d like to get to know you better.” His response is “you already know me.” That could be good or bad or neither. No one here can tell you for sure. You’re just going to have to ask him.
