If that’s the case, I can’t see why you wouldn’t be able to order an AT&T-compatible phone, get a Straight Talk sim and be good. Check out swappa.com. I’ve had good luck there buying used phones in great condition. Filter on “Mint/New” condition. You should be able to get a like-new device without the contract. Moto X (2013) is old, but should be fine for an MP3 player or a phone if you need to in the near future. They are about $175 in like-new condition.
