(3) Supreme Court and High Courts Explanation: Both the Supreme Court (Article 139) and the High Courts (Article 226) are empowered to issue writs including habeas corpus, mandamus, prohibition, quo-warranto and certiorari for the enforcement of the fundamental rights of an aggrieved citizen. While the Supreme Court can issue writs only for the enforcement of the Fundamental Rights, the high courts can issue writs for other purposes as well.
