The Russian Revolution happened in 1917, and World War I took place in the years 1914-1918. So therefore, they both influenced the other. The war helped bring about the Revolution because the leader of the Provisional Government, Kerensky, decided to keep the war going although Russia was doing poorly. He even announced a new offensive. The soldiers didn't like the idea, and refused to move up to the front, and about 2 million soldiers had quit the Russian army because of it. The soldiers and Bolsheviks campaigned against the war, and many were arrested. There was a conflict between the Bolsheviks and the Provisional Government, and on October 24-25, 1917, the Bolsheviks revolted against the Provisional Government and succeeded.
