When purchasing electronics, you might not necessarily want to spend loads of money on the latest and greatest item. If you know where to look, you won't have to. In fact, often times after a new gadget has been released, it is immediately on sale because companies want people to try and encourage their new product to possible future customers. But you can't always rely on new electronics to be automatically marked down, so what do you do? You look around. Each store has different pricing for the same item. This helps with competition between stores. If store A has a phone for sale ten dollars cheaper than store B, store B probably has another item in the store that's cheaper than store A is selling it for. Local stores usually send out weekly or bi-weekly ads of the sales going on that week. You can always check those to see if the item you're looking for is possibly on sale. These stores only get a limited space to advertise in the papers, so if you don't see your item there you can always check the retailer's website for more information. A lot of time store websites will have online-only deals, where you can only get the item on sale online and not if you physically visit the store. This is usually a good way to find sales if you don't need the product that instant. Sometimes the 'sales' aren't really justified if you're going to spend more on shipping and handling than you would if you just went into the store and bought it, so be careful of that. If you're a preferred customer or if a store has some sort of rewards program, you might qualify for a deal automatically, especially if you're a frequent visitor. Ask a store associate what kind of deals you can get as a preferred customer, or even if you can get a discount by signing up for their program that day. There are many ways you can deals and discounts on electronics. Asking your friends and family, checking local ads, and visiting retailer websites is a good way of finding out where the latest deals and discounts are.
