Halloween is almost here. It's time to pull out the thinking cap and decide on costume ideas. The Wizard of Oz is a fun theme to go with. It also can be an easy theme to go with if on a budget since there are several characters to choose from. Are you thinking about going as Dorothy? Her character is usually depicted in an old fashioned dress that is light blue, sometimes blue and white plaid, with a white short sleeved shirt underneath the dress. Let's not forget that blue bow either! By doing your hair in piggy tails, you're sure to look like Dorothy. The clothing that makes up her costume can be easily obtained at a thrift store or costume shop. You could possibly make it, if you're nifty with sewing. The Tin Man might be one the most recognizable costumes and easiest to make. It might be the cheapest too. If going for a simple look, you can wrap yourself in tinfoil or use a hot glue gun to glue tinfoil to cardboard that will be your top part of the costume. The bottom part can be obtained by pants with tinfoil wrapped around them or maybe you'll be able to find silver looking pants in a store or costume shop. Don't forget the silver face paint either! The Wicked Witch of the West's costume is also fairly simple. All you need is a black outfit and black witch's hat which can be obtained at many stores. Green face paint can also be found at any costume shop or party related store. A green wig can also be found at a costume shop. Whatever character you choose, keep an eye out on sales because come Halloween, businesses will become competitive and try to beat each other's low prices. Wait for sales before buying your outfit or supplies needed for your costume.
