what is the difference between a PPO and an EPO ?

1 Answer

Answer :

PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) is not an out of network benefit provider. It does however allow reduced benefits for an out of network provider. PPO's allow someone to see a specialist without going through a primary care doctor, and can be used when you travel. PPO policies cost a little more than EPO's but is well worth it. An EPO (Exclusive Provider Organization) also requires no primary care referral, but has no out of network benefits, and is useless for travel outside of your area.
