Stonewall Jackson was the victim of friendly fire as the Battleof Chancellorsville was ending as a Confederate victory. A bulletshattered his left arm just below the shoulder. There were notreatments for shattered bones except for amputation. As he wasrecovering, pneumonia overcame him. At that time there was no curefor that disease. Jackson died on May 10, 1863.
