Most were more concerned with building homes, farming, andtaking care of the family. The population was 98% farmers and werebusy. They were not concerned with government because the king wasin charge and they never had any idea that they could have a voicein the government. It was the educated. Plantation owners, businessowners, and lawyers who were concerned with a voice ingovernment.
