Why are dental implants better than other types of false teeth?

1 Answer

Answer :

Dental implants are fixed into your gums  and more like your own teeth although they cannot decay so they have the advantage over real teeth in this respect.  You don't have to keep taking them in and out to clean them and they do not crack and break as easily as a denture. Dental implants are more like your own teeth because they are designed to fuse with the bone so they become permanent. Because of this they are more comfortable when eating, they do not slide about like dentures so they improve confidence. They are very durable and if looked after properly can last a lifetime. The one drawback is the cost of dental implants but once in place they should not need much maintenance. Dentures may be cheaper initially but because of gum shrinkage they may need to be replaced several times over the years. Having said that dentures have improved cosmetically over time and can still give a nice smile so if you can't afford implants a denture is better than a toothless grin.
